2022

The Genesis:
Community & Creation

We launched as "Gro," founded by a team of seasoned operators from ShareChat, Glance, and Zepto. Our mission was to solve the "leaky bucket" of problems for India's Gen-Z creators—low ROI, lack of guidance, and unpredictable income. We hypothesized that a strong, gamified community could be the engine for their growth.

Our MVP on Telegram rapidly grew to 750+ creators, validating this core need. We supercharged engagement with gamified hashtag challenges, generating over 1,200 videos in the first month and achieving a sticky ~20% D30 retention rate as creators genuinely felt "part of a family." Early partnerships with music labels like Sony Music provided exciting content for these challenges.

This traction allowed us to secure a ₹7 crore seed round led by Silverneedle Ventures, with participation from Huddle, TDV Partners, HME Ventures, Dholakia Ventures, FiiRE, and prominent angel investors like Arjun Vaidya, Ankit Kedia and Rajesh Sawhney.

The Branded Challenge Model

We monetized through Branded Hashtag Challenges for clients like OTO capital & VAMA, offering authentic UGC at unprecedented scale.

Exceptional Early Unit Economics:
  • Cost per Video: An incredibly low ~₹113.
  • Selling Price: A healthy ~₹250+.
  • Cost per Impression (CPI): A disruptive ~₹0.30, compared to the industry average of ₹0.5-₹1 on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

This model pointed to a highly profitable future with ~100% gross margins and a massive cost advantage over the entire agency ecosystem.

2023

The Pivot:
From Community to AI-Driven Performance

We observed a critical market reality: over 75% of marketing budgets were flowing into Google/Meta with rising CACs and debilitating creative fatigue. The real, universal pain point wasn't just content creation; it was efficient, scalable customer acquisition. We made our most pivotal decision: rebrand as Hypergro and build an AI-powered adtech platform to solve this billion-dollar problem.

Our algorithmic engine analyzed brand assets to generate rich audience personas and pinpoint high-value lookalike segments with precision.

Imagine AI

This creative engine matched brands with authentic creators from our 250K+ community, producing UGC ads that we observed performed 5x better than standard influencer content.

Growth AI

Our AI media buyer automated campaign launches, A/B testing, and 24/7 optimization, acting as a tireless performance marketer to maximize ROAS.

The market validated our shift instantly. We achieved 3x revenue growth in two quarters (from ₹5 lakhs to ₹15 lakhs), became contribution margin positive, and saw our LTV:CAC ratio climb to a healthy 5:1. Client wins like a 1282% ROAS increase for a diamond retailer proved our impact.

We started building "Cursor for Ads," our self-serve SaaS platform, to capture the long tail of the SMB market. Concurrently, our core AI models were becoming exponentially smarter, now trained on a massive dataset of over 35M+ ad impressions and 38K+ video creatives. To execute this ambitious GTM strategy, we professionalized our leadership, hiring key execs from industry titans like Eternal Capital & Kofluence.
